Compounding this variability, the blood flow response to any stressor is reduced by free radicals in the blood and diminished by aging and diabetes.

Several previous studies examined the influence of whole body vibration on leg blood flow using Doppler ultrasound either acutely [ 37 — 41 ] or after 12 weeks of training [ 42 ]. The myogenic spectral density behaved similarly to the SBF.

The vibration parameters used in previous studies were Hz, 5—6 mm amplitude, 6—7 g peak acceleration, where as our LIV parameters were 30 Hz, 0.
